Ma made us get up a the crack of dawn to load the pickup with all our instruments. There was a street fair going on downtown and it would be a good chance for us to bring in a little money. Cash was tight, what with pa abed with a bad back, and the crops all flood out after that last storm.
Buford played the washtub, Titus was on banjo, Junior strummed the Dobro, and Sarah kept time on the stomp box and picked her flat top. Ma beat out a rhythm on spoons. A few coins and paper money got tossed in Junior’s open guitar case.
Good thing we found a busy corner and a bit of shade. It was gonna be a long day.

Oh what a cool picture. Love the contrast of the old timey instruments and look of most of the people with the cigarette and modern shirt of the banjo player.
