Anais Nin, whom you quote, is one of those “People I Would Love to Have Known”. Right up there, in my mind, with Dorothy Parker (for her wit) and Tallulah Bankhead (she was notorious for not wearing underwear). Anais was a free spirit in her own right and regard and her writings are full of mind-awakening quotes. And, of course, her long standing affair with Henry Miller directly influenced much of her work – as much as SHE influenced HIS.

Lou–thanks for sharing this interesting fact. I have read some of Miller’s books and am a huge Anais fan, but somehow missed this connection. Because of your comment, I looked it up and some of the love letters between them are intensely beautiful. So, thank you for sharing this!!
