Pale faces at my window, alien and distorted, paralyze me with fear. I shake my head, trying to dispel white noise voices that buzz inside my brain. I can’t escape from these aberrations.

This weekend’s Trifextra challenge is to,”Write a horror story in 33 words, without the words blood, scream, died, death, knife, gun, or kill.”
Someone near and dear to me sees these faces and hears these voices. While this isn’t a classic horror story, it is a real Hitchcockian nightmare from which he will never wake. That, to me, is frightening beyond measure.
This one hit kind of close to home. Incredibly haunting.

I assume the story is the bit right below the picture?
Oh my god, I love it. The imagery is just so haunting and particular, my heart pounds. And that strange numb feeling is certainly a frightening position, so helpless. I love it.
