For the IndieInk Photo Battle (#IIPhoto) this week, Headant challenged me with “Homophone” and I challenged Chris with “Home.”

I thought this shot of a fishing lure, tangled around a tree limb, worked perfectly ~ bated bait.


Homophone noun [hom-uh-fohn]
Phonetics – a word pronounced the same as another but differing in meaning, whether spelled the same way or not.

BATE  verb (used with object) [beyt]
1. to moderate or restrain

BAIT noun [beyt]
1. food, or some substitute, used as a lure in fishing, trapping, etc.

I believe all good fiction includes an element of truth, and all good photography includes an element of fantasy. In this journal I hope to give voice to the stories swirling around in my head, and to capture the images I see through my camera’s lens.

  1. Nicely done. I would have seen the word and gone to drool in a corner, I think 🙂 I thought you were going to go more for the alluring lure or the lure luring people into the tree. Or yeah. That’s why you do what you do and I don’t 😉
