“I’m starving!”
“Dinner will be ready soon, just go sit down and I’ll call you in a few,” she laughed, waving a wooden spoon at him to keep his fingers out of the stew pot.
Rolling his eyes at her, he reluctantly left the kitchen.
She watched his back as he walked away. Stirring the chili, she turned the heat down. Bowls and spoons were taken out of the cabinets.
Setting the table, she couldn’t remember the last time he’d touched her – something as simple as a hug, or a caress on her back, a kiss. She felt starved too.

The 100 Word Challenge, a writing prompt created by Velvet Verbosity, takes a single theme to tell a story in only 100 words ~ no more, no less. This week’s theme is ‘Starved.’
And here I thought you were foraying (sp?) into food blogging…that was an awesome twist.

Great write. I’m not a hugger but learning to be more of one over the years has taught me just how much I’ve been missing cause a hug definitely can feed the soul!
