Tarklin Bayou

I’m still keeping up with my quasi-daily walks, logging in more than 20 miles since last Sunday. Not too shabby. Saturday I took off for one of my photo hunts, making it more of a hike again, spending two hours at Tarklin Bayou State Preserve near Pensacola. It was a gorgeous day, not too hot, a slight breeze, and I had the place practically to myself. It was glorious!

The trees were budding out, flowers and wildberries were blossoming. Soon the fields will be covered in pink and cream pitcher plants.

*Florida Tourism really should hire me…

(Photos shot with a Nikon D60, using an 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 20mm f/2.8 wide-angle, or 50mm f/1.8 prime lens and/or a Nikon CoolPix S205)

    1. HA! I like the ‘Where’s Waldo’ reference. I like hiding the watermark in unusual places. The second shot isn’t flowers, it’s actually red maple seeds, and they really were that bright pink. I’d never seen red ones before, just the green seed pods. They were every where that day.

  1. It’s so colorful there! I love seeing all the blue and green that we’re missing here. It’s still so gray and dreary here, but the snow is melting and I’ll soon be able to take colorful pics again too.
