100 Word Challenge: Order

I’m declaring this month a “June do-over.”

I feel like June just ghosted me. It was there, then it wasn’t.

Nothing terrible happened, but nothing major happened either. (Not dissing the Godzilla resurrection, that was awesome.)

Back in January of 2017, I started a Bullet Journal. The purpose and look of those journals have changed over the years, but I’ve been able to maintain them pretty much the entire time. I decided, with one week left in June, that I would recalibrate and start new with July.

What I did do with the journals over time, and have now realized it was a mistake, was to streamline them. I wasn’t being as deliberate as I had been originally and my daily routine was suffering for it. My well-being was suffering for it.

It felt like I wasn’t getting anything done because I wasn’t. I had no accountability, especially to myself. I get a lot more done when I keep better track of it. That means, instead of just winging it, I need to be very specific in what I need to do. Specific almost to the point of being micromanaged.

I can’t just make a to-do list line item of “clean the kitchen.” Things are left undone, forgotten, neglected. I need a detailed catalog of what I want to accomplish… a checklist. That way, I have a tangible record of chores done and chores needing to be done.

I need order, I need routine, I need lists.

Lots of lists.

“I like lists, I’m controlling, I like order. I’m difficult on every level.” ~Sandra Bullock

This week’s word is:

Order

To do:

Using “order” for inspiration, write 100 Words – 100 exactly – no more, no less. You can either use the word – or any form of the word – as one of your 100, or it can be implied. Include a link in your post back here, and add your story to the Mister Linky list. If you don’t have a blog, you can leave your submission in the comment section, or as a Facebook status post. Remember to keep spreading the love with supportive comments for your fellow Wordsters.

  1. Identifying with the diagnosis of my wellness! I prefer the details of my life to be organized by specifics. There has to be an order of process for cycles if not everything will be a wash. OCD is a significant attribute I’m fond of. If any notation of a thought is out of sequence I meditate. Training my mind to focus on the importance of steps that was ordered before conception. Mastering Destiny you must find a path that strengthens your intellect. Never fall victim to negative behavior think positive and stay the course. Your order is ready ~ Now Live

    1. I make lists so I can get tasks done. They still don’t do anything to keep my mind or life orderly. (It’s good to see you here again.)
