Often when I go for a photo hike, I have no particular intent. I’m not seeking any specific wildlife or native flora. I take pictures of things I think are interesting or pretty.
Sometimes, once I get home and can scrutinize each photo in detail, I find surprises. Things that I missed on first snap, and only see once I get into editing.
This spiderweb was a lagniappe to the watercolor-esque reflection in a quiet stream.
I get great satisfaction from finding these little extras.

My fiancée always gets frustrated by me wandering off to snap a photo of something or other. I think the pictures you find by accident are often the best.

I think so too. Some of my favorite photos were complete serendipity.
