100 Word Challenge: Music

Tomorrow night, I’m getting dressed up, and a friend and I are going on a Girls’ Night Out. We’re attending a concert at the local community college.

The last concert I attended was in 2014 when this same friend got me tickets to see Lady Smith Black Mambazo as a Christmas present.

Before that, we saw B.B. King in his last concert in Panama City… that was in 2012. I’m overdue for some musical culture.

This concert is presented by a tribute band that covers Queen songs. I’m very excited about the performance – probably more giddy than is appropriate.

I told my husband that I need to find my skinny jeans and white, wife-beater. He was not impressed with my wardrobe choice.

I’ve been practicing my head-banging and running scales so I can sing along with Bohemian Rhapsody.

“They who dance are thought mad by those who hear not the music.” ~ proverb

This week’s word is:

Music

What to do:

Using “music” for inspiration, write 100 Words – 100 exactly – no more, no less. You can either use the word – or any form of the word – as one of your 100, or it can be implied. 1. I haven’t written a 100 word story in a while. It felt good to get back into it. Thanks for continuing the tradition.

  2. Memories. If tomorrow wasn’t such a long time perhaps we could have worked it out. A devil woman came along and put her spell on me so I left you crying. I’m sorry my brown eyed girl, I should have known better. Now you’re living happy ever after and I’m still waiting for my Blue Moon to turn to gold again. I walked away and now I’m on the road to nowhere. You were always on my mind but I gave in to temptation. So what’s it going to be? I’m back for good, but it all depends on you. 😀

  3. I love music of all kinds. A fond memory is going to a Simon and Garfunkel concert in my senior year of high school. My boyfriend had treated me. The super surprise was that we were in the 10th row!
    Here’s my entry…

What a thrill! She could hear the sounds of instruments tuning up as soon as she pulled open the door to the concert hall. Taking a moment she marveled at the interior’s luxurious beauty. A freshman in the orchestra, she was excited to be included in the Spring Concert. When she chose MUSIC the first day of high school she never imagined being a part of something like this. Giving up other school activities to practice after school and during study periods was hard. Performing on the stage of the Philadelphia Academy of Music more than made up for it.
