I’m not an overly superstitious person. At one time, I owned a black cat. I’ve walked under ladders, and I’ve stepped on my share of sidewalk cracks. I’ve also broken a few mirrors – all with no ill effect.
However, I do believe in jinxes.
With a cautious nod to not spoiling a good thing, I don’t mention specific good fortune that befalls one of my kids. Seems like every time I want to brag about something wonderful that has happened or we hope is about to happen, and I mention it to someone… I jinx it.
Colossal, catastrophic, apocalyptic, calamitic (it’s a word!) failure … you get the idea.
One of my kids, (maaaaybe both of them), through hard work and perseverance, has had a run of good luck lately. I won’t say who, or how, just that for the moment life is looking up. But, you didn’t hear that from me.
“All of us have bad luck and good luck. The man who persists through the bad luck – who keeps right on going – is the man who is there when the good luck comes – and is ready to receive it.” ~ Robert Collier
The word for this week is:

Ah, going to try to jump in soon. Stayed up late writing a post last night and overslept. 🙂
