What scares you

“Try a thing you haven’t tried before three times – once to get over the fear, once to find out how to do it, and a third time to find out whether you like it or not” ~ Virgil Thomson

First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “Do one thing every day that scares you.” Whether I intend to or not, whether I want to or not, I do the same frightening thing every day. I can tell you I don’t like it, and I most assuredly haven’t figured out how to make it work.

  1. I think, lately, I am scared of being scared.
    Isn’t that ironic?

I wonder all the time “what” it is I am truly frightened of. Perhaps that why I don’t write anymore.

I’m so sorry I missed so much of your writing lately, but I hope to catch up a little today. XO

        1. There is a quote by Marianne Williamson that says what I feel, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.”

  2. Being with people scares me, but the right sort of person, makes me wonder what I was scared about in the first place .

  3. Agree. Today I ran 8 miles…I hate it and when I’m by myself (like today) I am afraid…not for being alone, I’m pretty scary-enough to get left alone- but scared I’ll not be able to finish or that I will fail…so whether I fail or not I think I kinda win cuz I tried…today rocked but there’s always tomorrow 😬
