Back to school

Summer is winding down, and more and more kids are heading back to school. Hopefully, the beaches and trails will be blissfully empty in only a few short weeks. I returned to Blackwater River State Park, near Holt for my photo hike.

There was a coolness to the air as I wandered around the Juniper Lake Loop. Still hunting for gators, but had to settle for flowers and butterflies.

I did happen upon a herd of young ankle-biters. Wouldn’t you know it… some inconsiderate parents brought their small children on the trail. What were they thinking, getting their offspring outside and active? Some people! (You know, I kid…)

After advising the urchins’ wranglers to be on the lookout for a profusion of swallowtail butterflies, I put as much space between us as possible. The littlest of this species tend to be rather noisy.

*I typically post my photo hikes in a gallery, but I was dismayed to discover that while I have disabled the reblog feature for posts, it was still an option on my slideshow images. I LOATHE reblogging, and hope that any regular readers, and any visitors who happen by, respect my wishes to not reblog any of my content or photos. Please, read my copyright statement for clarification. ~ Thank you!
