Last week I missed my photo hike. Probably the first time that has happened in more than two years. I was off doing the whole “my-kid-is-home-from-college-family-togetherness” thing. I’ll admit to getting a little twitchy not being able to get out, but it was nice to hang with my daughter and have everyone home at the same time.
This week, it was back to the woods. Two hours on the trail, breathing in the fresh air, basking in the winter sun, and luxuriating in my “me-time.” I love my kids, and love having a full house for Christmas, but sometimes all that love and togetherness is exhausting.
I escaped to the Florida Trail near Crestview for my hike.
(Photos shot with a Nikon D60, using an 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 20mm f/2.8 wide-angle, 50mm f/1.8 prime lens, Nikon CoolPix S205 and/or iPhone4)

I envy your dedication and your location. I need to expand my horizons and think outside the box more and do what your doing; grab the camera, phone and go shoot! (Makes more sense here doesn’t it?)

You should have dragged her with you!
The shades of green in that second shot are stunning.

I love the photos of the woods, the trees. The mushroom looks so pretty, like a vintage wedding dress. Merry Christmas, Tara!
