Worldwide Photo Walk

This weekend I participated in the Fourth Annual Worldwide Photo Walk, brainchild of Scott Kelby. According to Kelby’s website, more than 1100 walks were planned and more than 30,000 shutterbugs participated in the two-day event.

My group met in downtown Fort Walton Beach. A dozen or so local artists and amateurs trooped about snapping photos of area attractions and having an all-around good time.

To check out other photos from this group, go to our Flickr page. It should be filling up over the next few days.

These are my favorite shots from the walk. I can choose one of these to enter into a local and then hopefully event-wide contest. Help me pick by telling me which one is your favorite. In the comments, please list the number of the one you think is the best of the lot. thnx!

  1. I like #6. Very striking. The eye travels down and then is amazed by the jewels, such a rich surprise against the worn yellow fabric. I like the red strap and how you cropped it.

  2. I participated in the walk at Little Five Points Atlanta! It was super to meet many new photographers and I should have my set ready to submit later today.
You have a terrific set here. I love your number 6. It’s worn, painted, beaded. A lot of love and stories in that shoe.

  3. I immediately loved shot one because of the variation of color on the wall and the way that the vines on the right look like they are whispering to the vine on the left. (I animate plants, I can’t help it) but the last shot, number eight, speaks to my love of rusted things. If I were to enter the contest, I would enter the first one.

  4. Striking shots. I like your focus on one object (shoe, leaf). I vote for seven. I feel like I could reach out and touch that leaf. It’s popping out of my computer screen.
