Winter solstice

Holiday skies sunset

The earth has tilted
Night becomes day
Day becomes night
The unconquered sun, turning of the year
Bonfires of pagan and believer
A celebration of the true light
Welcoming renewal and rebirth
Ashes and embers kept for luck
Candles lit to remember, beacons of hope
The longest night comes to an end

  1. Oh. I can’t decide what I think is prettier.. Your words or that breath stealing picture. Both?
Those embers that hard to extinguish..become the warmest lights sometimes.
